II is specifically brought up at THE MEMORY of 3000 American soldiers and 200 to 250 interallied soldiers fallen in the murderess " Battle of the Ardennes " and in particular to BASTOGNE ( Belgium). Their bodies rested on this hill until 1948. This stele is a message to honor and keep the memory of the sacrifice of all these nice. Especially, it is there to remind the future generations that these heroes died to deliver France and Europe from the NAZI yoke and assure the peace between the peoples in a democratic ideal. |
